The Black Point Market - 2016
35 Nehantic Drive
Niantic, CT 06357
The original Black Point Market
Circa 1928

OPENING DAY for 2017 will be Saturday, April 29th

The Black Point Market is a historical fixture in the Black Point Beach Club section of Niantic, Connecticut.  Built in 1928 and run by the Wollshlager family for many years thereafter - several generations of "Black Pointers" have cherished memories of their visits to what was often referred to as
"The Little Store".
Ownership of the Market passed through several other families but eventually the building fell into disrepair and the business was closed for some time.  In 2010, in the hands of new owners, the Market underwent a dramatic renovation and transformation and is once again a lively and integral part of the Black Point community.  Locals from Black Point and surrounding communities come to peruse the gift shop, meet up with friends to savor a good meal or enjoy a tasty treat of Gifford's Ice Cream, Richie's Italian Ice, or a thirst-quenching Slush Puppie on a hot summer day.

We are open daily at 7 am.  Closing times are
Monday through Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday at 5 pm.

The 2017 season will run from Saturday, April 29
through Sunday, September 10th.

In-season phone: 860-451-8028

Coffee and tea selections are available every morning, as well as fresh baked muffins and scones, home-made quiche and breakfast sandwiches made with fresh bakery rolls or bagels.  Old-fashioned donuts are available on Saturdays and Sundays - but get here early - they can disappear quickly!  Lunch is available daily as well - choose from our many types of deli sandwiches, meatball grinders, quesadillas, and our very popular cranberry/walnut chicken salad.  All sandwiches are made to order and you may call ahead as well, or order the day before for an early
morning outing,  boating or fishing trip.

We have basic groceries - milk, cream, eggs, bacon, orange juice, hot dogs, baking needs, sodas, snacks, crackers, cheese, etc.

We have many candy selections as well as Gifford's delicious scooped
Ice Cream, Richie's Italian Ice (fresh scooped), and Slush Puppies.

We also have a selection of printed "Black Point"  clothing -
many styles of t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats.
Even infant onesies and toddler tees are available.

We have a gift area within the store also - with reasonably priced items, jewelry, sailor bracelets, nautical ornaments and much more
- so come on in and see.

We have daily newspapers - The New London Day, The Hartford Courant, Wall Street Journal, NY Post, NY Daily News, NY Times, as well as
The Boston Globe on Sundays.
